Islamic School Teacher Arrested For Raping 2 Pupils, Aged 6 And 7

A primary school teacher in Lagos has been arrested and charged to court over allegations of sexual abuse.

Mohammed Ibrahim, 27, who teaches in
an Islamic school, was arraigned before a Magistrate court in the Ebute Meta area of the state after it was reported that he had raped two pupils.

The victims, aged six and seven years old, were said to have been forced into the act by Ibrahim at the Al-adab Nursery and Primary School in the Surulere environs.

Vanguard reports:

    The prosecutor, Inspector R. Odigie, said the crime was committed on December 18 at about 11.00 a.m. at Al-adab Nursery and Primary School, Abalti Barracks, Surulere, Lagos.

    He said the accused took the two pupils to the school toilet and forcefully had carnal knowledge of them.

    He said: “The victims screamed for help and were rescued by another teacher in the school. The eyewitness reported the accused to the headmaster.”

    The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

    The Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.A. Demi-Ajayi, granted the accused bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum.

    She adjourned the case to January 29, 2014.
