The burial of the immediate past Governor of Ondo State, Late Olusegun
Agagu will hold today despite yesterday's plane crash. A plane which
carried his corpse and 27 other people crashed immediately it took off
yesterday. 5 people survived out of the 27, but that will not stop the
State Government from going ahead with the burial. The chairman of
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo State, Ebenezer Alabi, has this
to say;
“We just consulted with the family and have decided to go ahead with the
burial.“More so, the son of the former governor survived and the
son-in-law survived. There was no scratch on the casket.
“So while the family sympathised with those that lost their lives and
their loved ones, they have decided to go ahead with the burial as was
initially planned.”
The Christian wake-keep was held yesterday, while the body will be interred today.
A
member of the burial committee, who confirmed the decision of the Agagu
family to go ahead with the burial despite the air mishap, however,
expressed concerns over the plan to Vanguard Newspaper. Speaking with
Vanguard in confidence, the member said that the burial ought to have
been shifted at least for one week in honour of those that died in the
crash.
